About the Author

Noam Dolgin was born at Grace Hospital in Vancouver, just minutes from what is now the King Edward Station and grew up walking, cycling and bussing through the neighbourhoods now served by the Canada Line.

His passion for trains developed early, as he spent many childhood hours happily climbing on Engine 374 in Kitsilano Park (currently on display near the Roundhouse Station) while wearing his conductor’s hat. His love of trains and transit deepened during a seven year stint in New York City, where the F train took him anywhere he wanted to go. When Noam moved back to Vancouver in 2007, he crossed the country by train.

Noam now works as a leading environmental educator across North America, England and Israel. His work includes hands-on programming for children and adults as well as developing innovative environmental teaching curricula from his home in East Vancouver.

The opening of the Canada Line was a perfect opportunity for Noam to combine his love of trains and transit with his engaging educational style, creating a book that is fun to read and encourages others to explore Vancouver and Richmond by train.
